Gophers top Badgers, 3-1

The Golden Gophers men's hockey team topped the Wisconsin Badgers 3-1 Saturday night in WCHA play at Mariucci Arena.

The Badgers jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first period, and Gophers' Nick Bjugstad scored a goal at 07:14 in the second to even the score.

The Gophers pulled away in the third period with goals by Tom Serratore at 05:59 , and Kyle Rau in an empty net at 19:36.

The victory for the Gophers comes after the two teams skated to a 2-2 tie Friday night at Mariucci Arena.
