Griner's double-double sends Lynx to their 2nd straight loss
The Minnesota Lynx dropped their second straight game, falling to the Phoenix Mercury 73-66 Friday night.
Trailing by two at the half, the Mercury quickly took the lead in the third quarter than pulled away in the fourth to pick up the win.
Marta Xargay Casademont had a big night off the bench for the Mercury, she finished with 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting, she was a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc.
DeWanna Bonner added 14, while Brittney Griner had a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, she also made a key play late in the game to seal the victory.
Griner also had six blocks in the game.
Minnesota held the Mercury to seven points in the second quarter, allowing them to take the lead a 35-33 lead into the break.
Maya Moore led the Lynx with 17 points, she was 3-of-7 from behind the arc. Sylvia Fowles was the only other Lynx player in double figures, she finished with 11.
