On Monday night, the Stewartville School Board will determine the future of the Stewartville school district's Hall of Fame volleyball coach.

The Rochester Post-Bulletin reports that Coach John Dzubay is under scrutiny for alleged rules infractions within his highly successful volleyball program. The newspaper said that the Minnesota State High School League is reportedly considering three alleged violations.

ABC6 noted that Dzubay holds the second-most-winning coaching record in Minnesota state high school sports history. He holds four state titles as Stewartville's head coach, including the Class AA state championship in 2014. Dzubay has been coaching Stewartville volleyball since 1981.

The alleged violations include:
• Out-of-season coaching by a member of varsity volleyball coaching staff.
• Use of athletes to help run a skills class for first- through 6th-grade girls on Sundays during the volleyball season.
• Encouraging use of open gym during the summer to get extended time for the mile in the fall.

The board could decide not renew Dzubay's contract, which would effectively fire him. Dzubay is expected to address the board. The coach told the Post-Bulletin that it was his choice to have the meeting open, rather than closed.

"I figured we might as well make it all public," Dzubay told the newspaper. "I will get five minutes to address all of the allegations."

KTTC reports that while Stewartville Superintendent David Thompson is recommending that the board terminate Dzubay, parents, alumni and current athletes plan to attend the Monday evening meeting to show their support for the coach. A Support Coach Dzubay Facebook page has been established.

"He's taught me that no matter what you have to fight for what you want. I don't think I have met anyone who fights as hard as him," said Stewartville player Tara Rogers.

Stewartville is a town of about 6,000 in Olmsted County in southern Minnesota.
