Harvin watch: Seattle says he will begin practicing next week

Although it's been teased for weeks, Percy Harvin's return to the field for the Seattle Seahawks appears to have a certain time frame.

As BringMeTheNews reported Tuesday, Coach Pete Carroll said the timeline was closing in. Now, it looks like next week will be the time where the former Viking Harvin, recovering from a torn hip labrum that was supposed to keep him out until at least November, will take some reps.

The Seahawks have another four weeks of window to let him start practicing, according to NBC's Pro Football Talk, at which time they’ll have 21 days to decide whether or not to activate him from the physically unable to perform list.

Earlier, BringMeTheNews also reported that Harvin was aiming for a week 7 return, which will work about right, it looks like.

But it seems worth asking: Do the 5-1 Seahawks even need him? They're already a pretty dominating team in several aspects of the game. If there's a return to form for Harvin, it wouldn't be foolish to talk Super Bowl.
