The Minnesota Wild beat the Washington Capitals 5-3 on Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center.

The Wild had one of their best periods of the season on Saturday night. In the second, Minnesota scored four goals to erase a 2-0 first period deficit and turn it into a 4-3 lead.

Ryan Suter had a hat trick, as he scored two of the Wild's goals in the second period, and finished off with his third goal in the third to put the game out of reach.

According to the Star Tribune, it is the 16th "Hat Trick" in Wild history.

Mikko Koivu added a pair of assists for Minnesota.

After tying the game at 2, the Wild took a brief lead on Suter's second goal at 3-2. However, Washington came right back moments later to tie the game at three on the second goal of the game from Mike Green.

But Jason Zucker gave the Wild the lead for good before the end of the second to make it 4-3.

The only goal in the third was Suter's.

The Wild were outshot in the game 30-11, but got the win, their second straight.

The Wild are back in action on Tuesday against the Kings in Los Angeles.
