The NHL has scheduled a hearing today with the Los Angeles Kings’ Dustin Brown after the hit he put on the Wilds' Jason Pominville last night at Xcel Energy Center.

Pominville was elbowed in the face in the 2nd period, and didn’t return.

Brown -- who was trying to gain possession of the puck -- says he was just bracing himself for Pominville's hit.

Star Tribune reporter Michael Russo doesn't buy it. He says: "(Brown) didn’t brace himself. He swung his elbow sneakily into Pominville’s face."
