Heart issue keeps Mardy Fish out of French Open
Edina native Mardy Fish has pulled out of the upcoming French Open because of a heart condition, according to the Associated Press.
Fish, a former Top 10 player, just returned to the ATP Tour in March after a six-month absence.
Fish has never really explained the exact nature of his condition, saying "it's not something that's very easy to talk about."
The setback comes a few weeks after Fish told the Dallas-Forth Worth Star Telegram that retirement from his condition wasn't "part of the discussion anymore."
“I’m feeling better and better," Fish said. "It’s been a long process. I’m just getting my confidence back and getting into match shape."
