Thirty-two teams will be narrowed to 16 over the next 48 hours as the boys' section championships will determine the state tournament teams, and all of the games will be played at 7 o'clock Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Six of the eight section title bouts in Class 2A are Wednesday night, in addition to three Class 1A championship games. The remaining two 2A games and five 1A matchups will be played Thursday night.
The best two nights of high school hockey arrived for Minnesota, and these are the games that will determine the state tournament fields.

The only No. 1 seed to not reach the section championship round is Cretin-Derham Hall in Section 6AA, as they were upset by Benilde-St. Margaret's 4-0. The lowest remaining seed in Class 1A is Mankato West, a No. 3 seed in Section 1.
The boys' state tournament will be played Mar. 30 through April 3, with the boys' title games happening Saturday, April 3 at the Xcel Energy Center.
The girls' tourney starts this week with quarterfinal action Friday and Saturday, followed by the semifinals on April 1 and the championship games preceding the boys' title games on April 3.
