Here's how Minnesota fans have reacted to Bally Sports North

The scoreboard appears to be a point of debate.

Fox Sports North has officially rebranded as Bally Sports North (BSN), with Minnesota sports fans getting their first glimpse of the new look while watching Wednesday night games featuring the Timberwolves and Wild, and on Thursday afternoon with the Twins opening the 2021 season against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Twins opener didn't exactly go as BSN planned, as numerous AT&T TV customers complained that they were receiving the national feed – of the Atlanta Braves – instead of the Twins pregame show. The problem was solved just in time for the 1:10 p.m. first pitch.

Granted, dealing with a late switch from the national feed to the local game isn't as bad as not getting BSN at all, as has been the case many months after the regional sports network was dropped from the likes of YouTube TV, Hulu Live and other streaming and satellite options.

"Thanks for NOTHING. Get back on YouTube TV or give us Minnesotans another option to watch games. Booo to you and great job playing the short game and screwing over all the Twins fans," tweeted one fan

BSN responded: "Sadly, you aren’t the only MLB fan left in the dark. YouTube TV doesn't carry 25 of MLB’s 30 teams on local channels," then urging the fan to sign up for the month-to-month AT&T TV Choice package.

What's YouTube say about the contract impasse? A YouTube Twitter account write to a Minnesota fan Thursday, saying, "at this point, we can't speculate when or if we'll have a new agreement with Sinclair to broadcast Bally Sports North."

Meanwhile, the rebrand comes with a new scoreboard banner at the bottom of the screen, new colors and logo (obviously) and a new tagline, referring to itself as the "The Heart of the Fan."

Though not everyone is a fan of the scoreboard banner at the bottom of the screen, with some users complaining that it was blocking the on-ice action during the Wild game. It appears less of an issue during Twins games.

While this writer welcomes the changed theme music of BSN, not all feel the same.

More thoughts from viewers, though do note that Twitter is a land of negativity, so it's not like we didn't attempt to find some positive opinions.
