Hermann to make history at Canterbury Park
History will be made at Canterbury Park on Saturday.
The horse racing track in Shakopee will provide fans with a replacement for track announcer, Paul Allen.
Allen, who will be traveling to Detroit for his radio play-by-play job with the Vikings, will be replaced at the track by Angela Hermann.
Hermann, according to the Daily Race Form, will become the first woman to call a full thoroughbred card in the United States.
Hermann normally works as the paddock analyst at Canterbury Park.
“I’m very, very nervous inside, but I can’t show it,’’ Hermann told the Star Tribune. “It will be nerve-racking no matter what. But that’s what’s fun about it. There aren’t too many things that can get you going like that while you’re sitting still.’’
