We've reached the weekend before Christmas and our 12 Days of Christmas special is still going strong.

Instead of using gifts, we’re using GIFS. You know, those animated clips that highlight the best few seconds of a video. The sports world was filled with dramatic, painful and humorous GIFS this year, and we’ll unveil one new GIF every day between now and Christmas.

Sing along if you'd like...

On the eighth day of Christmas the sports world gave to me, a perfect bullpen prank by the Twins.

That's Twins reliever Jared Burton knocking out fellow reliever Brian Duensing with a fake punch. The bullpen crew had talked about doing the stunt for more than a year, and had failed in two previous attempts in Seattle and Boston.

"As soon as it was hit, he goes, 'Come on. Punch me. Punch me,'" Burton told the Pioneer Press at the time. "I gave him the right hook and knocked him down."

"It's all in fun," Burton said. "I knew the ball was coming down and that camera was going to be zoomed in on us. I waited it out, afraid I was going to get hit with the ball. That's about as good of execution as you could ask for."

The stunt took place in August after Chris Colabello slugged a home run against the White Sox in Chicago.
