Aaron Hicks couldn't have started the season slower, and he couldn't have had a better game Monday night against the White Sox.

The rookie center fielder blasted two home runs and robbed Adam Dunn of a homer to lead the Twins over the White Sox, 10-3 in the opening game of a three-game series at Target Field.

Chicago actually jumped on top of the Twins with a pair of runs in the first inning. But Minnesota starter Pedro Hernandez would settle down, allowing just three runs over 5 1/3 innings to earn the win.

Trevor Plouffe highlighted a four-run third inning with a two-run double, putting the Twins on top, 4-2.

Hicks' first homer of the game -- a solo shot -- gave the Twins a 5-2 lead in the fourth. It was a 416 foot blast to straight away center field. His second homer of the game was a towering fly to left that landed in the Minnesota bullpen.

The Twins scored four more runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by a three-run double from Justin Morneau. Morneau finished 3-5 with four RBI. He has 14 RBI during his current nine game hitting streak.

Joe Mauer went 1-2 with a pair of runs and three walks, extending his hitting streak to 12 games.
