Packers favored to get Khalil Mack if Raiders trade him

Mack is one of the best defensive players in the NFL.

Imagine a world where superstar defensive end Khalil Mack played in the NFC North.

It's a reality that could exist if the Oakland Raiders end up trading Mack, who is still holding out of training camp with hopes of getting supremely rich with a new contract. The drama has made from some interesting betting odds in Las Vegas, with Bovada determining that the Green Bay Packers are the favorites to land Mack if he is traded.

The odds for which team Mack will be playing for after the Oct. 30 trade deadline favors the Packers with 11-4 odds, followed by the Bills and Cowboys at 7-1, Colts and Jets at 8-1, Redskins at 9-1 and the Steelers at 12-1.

OddsShark has similar odds.

Pro Football Talk points out that trading for Mack is an expensive idea. Sure, any team that gets Mack will have one of the NFL's most dominating defensive players and pass rushers, but he'll come at the price of high-end draft picks and cost a massive amount of guaranteed money.

For the Packers, that could be a tough deal to make, especially since Aaron Rodgers could very well be on the receiving end of the richest contract in NFL history in the near future.

Mack has been in the top 20 of NFL Network's Top 100 Players list three years in a row and was the 2016 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year. He has 40.5 sacks in just four years.

Mack would definitely change the landscape of the NFC North were he to join Green Bay, but that still might not be enough to pass up the Vikings as the best team in the division.
