Byron Buxton's first game with the Minnesota Twins is in the books, and it goes into the win column. The Twins topped the Texas Rangers by a score of 4-3 in the Sunday day game at Globe Life Park.

The Star Tribune notes that the top prospect, who was called up Saturday, went 0-for-4 in his major league debut, striking out twice.

But in the ninth, Buxton was on first base after a failed sacrifice attempt when Eddie Rosario delivered a double that sent Buxton home and snapped the Twins’ five-game losing streak.

KSTP noted that the 21-year-old Georgia native "is regarded by many as the best prospect in all of baseball." The Twins drafted Buxton out of high school with the 2nd overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft. He was the 2013 Minor League Player of the Year.

The Pioneer Press reports the game provided something for baseball statistics lovers to note: the Twins tied a 51-year-old franchise record with four triples, three of which came in the sixth inning. It was the only three-triple inning for the Twins since they moved to Minnesota in 1961.

Brian Dozier led off the game with his 13th homer. Closer Glen Perkins got the final three outs for his 22nd win.

The second-place Twins flew to St. Louis after the game in advance of a two-game set at Busch Stadium beginning on Tuesday.
