Mayor R.T. Rybak is experimenting with another form of tailgating before Vikings' home games called "railgating," a party along the Hiawatha light rail line between Park and 5th Avenues. The city wants to allow about two dozen food trucks and a beer stand to create a more vibrant game-day experience in anticipation of the new stadium in 2016. The city will test-run "railgating" Sept. 23.

Rybak says the city has two or three options on the table, including the Metrodome site, the farmer's market and land owned by Xcel Energy behind the basilica. Gov.
