Jared Spurgeon injury is a huge loss for the Wild
Bad news for the Minnesota Wild as defenseman Jared Spurgeon will miss at least a month after partially tearing his right hamstring.
Spurgeon suffered the injury when he appeared to do the splits into the corner boards during Minnesota's 5-1 loss to Colorado Tuesday night.
Spurgeon has been one of the Wild's best players this season, and he was just one point shy of tying a career high in points (37 so far this season).
Minnesota has 12 games to figure out a defensive rotation without Spurgeon before the playoffs begin next month.
