Jarius Wright was open to returning to the Vikings, but that isn't happening

Wright was released by the Vikings last week.

Less than a week after being released by the Vikings, veteran wide receiver Jarius Wright has agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport says Wright signed a two-year contract that includes a $2 million signing bonus and incentives that could increase the value of his 2018 deal to $3.5 million.

Released last Friday, Wright told the Pioneer Press that he would "love" to still come back to Minnesota and that re-working a deal wasn't out of the question.

Wright, some might say was a clutch third-down receiver, earning the nickname "Mr. Third Down." He did that despite totaling just 29 catches the last two seasons after falling down the depth chart behind emerging stars Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen.

After six years in Minnesota catching passes from the likes of Christian Ponder, Case Keenum, Sam Bradford, Shaun Hill, Josh Freeman, Teddy Bridgewater, and Matt Cassel, Wright now gets to play with former NFL MVP Cam Newton.
