UPDATE 9:37 p.m.

The Wolves announce that Butler will be re-evaluated on Saturday with an MRI.

Original story

Midway through the third quarter of Friday night's Timberwolves-Rockets game in Houston, All-Star guard Jimmy Butler left with an apparent right knee injury.

It didn't look good. Butler, fell to the ground and immediately grasped his right knee, and moments later he was helped to the locker room, clearly in pain and not putting any weight on his right leg.

ESPN caught Butler on camera in the hallway hopping on one leg on his way to the X-ray room.

Friday's game was Minnesota's first since the All-Star break.

Losing Butler for an extended period of time could be catastrophic. With Butler leading the way, and possibly putting himself into the MVP conversation, the Wolves entered play Friday with a record of 36-25, tied with the San Antonio Spurs for the third-best record in the Western Conference.

Stay tuned for updates.
