Jose Berrios mows down Cardinals, Twins get boost from rare Bobby Wilson home run

Berrios struck out 10 and Bobby Wilson provided the big blow.

If Twins fans were polled prior to Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Cardinals and asked if they know who Bobby Wilson is, we'd wager a decent amount of money on the majority admitting they've never heard of him.

They have now after Wilson delivered his first home run in 601 at-bats, and it was a big one, a three-run shot to break a 1-1 tie and give the Twins a 4-1 lead in the seventh inning.

Wilson is basically the backup to the backup, getting to play because Jason Castro is out with a torn meniscus and Mitch Garver can't start at catcher every night in Castro's place.

Wilson also called a wonderful game behind the plate for Jose Berrios, who fanned 10 Cardinals over 7 1/3 innings. Berrios allowed just one run on two hits and a pair of walks.

The Twins are now a perfect 3-0 against the Cardinals this season and they'll go for another two-game sweep Wednesday with Lance Lynn on the mound. First pitch from Target Field at 12:10 p.m.
