Minnesota Twins third baseman Josh Donaldson produced the ejection of the season on Thursday afternoon by getting tossed immediately after his sixth-inning home run against the Chicago White Sox.
With the Twins tied at 2, Donaldson headed to the plate and took a strike that appeared to be low and outside. After an exchange with home plate umpire Dan Bellino, Donaldson crushed a solo home run to give the Twins the lead.
As Donaldson trotted toward home, he kicked dirt over home plate in protest. That led Bellino to issue an immediate ejection as Donaldson walked back to make sure he touched home plate.
The Twins entered Thursday's game two games behind the White Sox in the American League Central.
