Kill expected to be at TCF Bank Stadium Saturday

There's a built-in element of convenience for Gophers' head coach Jerry Kill this coming Saturday.

Rather than having to travel the six-plus hours to Evanston, Ill., as he did Saturday to watch his team upset Northwestern on the road, Kill will just have to get to campus this coming Saturday to watch Minnesota go for another upset against No. 25 Nebraska.

It sounds like he will.

Acting head coach Tracy Claeys said Sunday that Kill will likely attend his second game in a row this week despite his indefinite leave of absence from the team that was announced Monday.

Kill and his wife watched from the press box at Ryan Field Saturday after driving six-plus hours to the Chicago suburb, and the head coach gave his players a halftime speech while also celebrating with them in the locker room postgame.

Claeys called Kill's presence "kind of like Linus' blanket, having him around just makes everybody feel comfortable."

Minnesota has five chances to get the one win they need to become bowl eligible for the second straight year.
