New Timberwolves Kirilenko, Shved rally Russia over Brazil in Olympic hoops

Russia remains unbeaten in the Olympic men’s basketball tournament after defeating Brazil 75-74 on Thursday in the final seconds of the game. Andrei Kirilenko and Alexey Shved, both headed to the Minnesota Timberwolves, scored a combined 36 points to secure the last second victory at the London Olympics.

Andrei Kirilenko and Alexey Shved led Russia to another easy victory on Tuesday, the Associated Press reports. The two future Timberwolves players helped beat China 73-54 in the men's Olympic basketball tournament. Kirilenko finished with 16 points and nine rebounds. Shved had 14 points and six assists. Russia will face Brazil on Thursday.
