Leslie Frazier announces who won't be Vikings QB Sunday

Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier has quite a monstrous hole to dig 1-6 Minnesota, and perhaps his job, out of.

Last night a quarterbacking exhibition was put on by Packer QB Aaron Rodgers, further magnifying the issues Minnesota has has under center since the departure of Brett Favre and arrival of Christian Ponder.

Understandable then, that Frazier will take his time in making what is week-in and week-out the most important decision leading up to Sunday.

Frazier said at his weekly press conference this afternoon that he will take "a couple days" to decide who will lead the Vikings offense into Dallas Sunday.

Not necessarily news until he was asked a follow-up on specifics of who it would be.

Cassel led the Vikings to their only win of the season, a 34-27 victory over the Steelers in London.

In that contest, Cassel threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns, posting a 123.4 quarterback rating, the only Viking QB to top 100 in the rating category this year.

Cassel is completing 69.6 percent of his passes this year, while Ponder and Josh Freeman, who will be vying to start this week, are completing just 53.4 percent.

Minnesota, who were 9.5-point underdogs last night, opened as a 11.5-point dog for their Sunday contest in Dallas.
