Superstar skier Lindsey Vonn has pulled out of Saturday's season-opening Solden World Cup.

Vonn, who just returned to training on Thursday after a serious ankle injury in August, made the announcement on her Facebook account Friday.

In August, Vonn crashed while on a run on Coronet Peak in New Zealand. She had to return to the United States for treatment.

Vonn had been training in New Zealand with her teammates on the U. S. ski team.

Vonn holds the record for all-time World Cup victories, winning gold in the downhill and taking a bronze in the super-G during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. But injuries have been a problem for her recently.

She missed the 2014 Sochi Olympics after tearing two ligaments in her right knee during a crash at the 2013 World Championships.

It may not be long, though, before Vonn is back on the slopes. The 31-year-old St. Paul native added that her sights are now set on the next race in Aspen.
