St. Paul native Lindsey Vonn was released from a Colorado hospital Wednesday after being treated for intestinal pain, The Associated Press reported.

Vonn was admitted to a Vail hospital Monday for what was first described as an "undisclosed illness," which was later revealed as "severe intestinal pain." According to The AP, doctors are still trying to confirm the cause of the illness.

The skier's publicist said Vonn is "resting comfortably" at home, but his not sure when will return to skiing.

The Olympic gold medal-winning skier and four-time overall World Cup champion was in Vail to prepare for the World Cup races in Aspen on Nov. 24.

Vonn hoped to be in Canada Nov. 24 to compete in the men's World Cup downhill race, but that bid was rejected by the International Ski Federation.
