The Minnesota-born skier won her 36th race in the discipline Saturday in Zauchensee, Austria, to match Annemarie Moser-Pröll's all-time record, The Associated Press reports.

And Moser-Pröll was one of the first to congratulate Vonn at the finish line, NBC Sports says.

Vonn, who now has 72 career World Cup wins, broke Moser-Pröll's overall World Cup wins record last season.

"She is so kind," Vonn said of Moser-Pröll, according to the AP. "I am so glad she's here today as she couldn't be in Cortina last year. It means a lot to me. She is a true legend of our sport."

Saturday's win also moved Vonn up to second place in the standings for the World Cup overall title, NBC Sports notes. It's the biggest prize in the sport this year because there's no World Championships or Winter Olympics in 2016.
