After battling an intestinal ailment earlier this week, it appears that St. Paul native Lindsey Vonn is ready to head back down the slopes this weekend, The Associated Press reported.

The 2010 Olympic gold medalist and four-time overall World Cup champion was released from the hospital Wednesday after being admitted to a Vail, Colo., hospital Monday for "severe intestinal pain."

She was forced to skip an introduction of the U.S. Ski Team in Vail Thursday as she awaited diagnostic testing on her condition.

Vonn's publicist announced in an email Friday night that she may resume her training program next week.

If healthy enough, Vonn may participate in the giant slalom and slalom in Aspen on Thanksgiving weekend.
