The dream season for the Coon Rapids-Andover Little League team came to an end Monday night as they lost 10-0 in four innings to Louisiana at the Little League World Series.

The boys – and girl, Maddy Freking – from the northern Twin Cities metro won the Minnesota state tournament and then went on to claim the Midwest Regional to become the first team from Minnesota since 2010 to reach the LLWS in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Minnesota opened with a 2-1 win over Kentucky in the opening round, then lost 11-0 to Virginia and 10-0 to Louisiana. Their win over Kentucky was just the second win for a team from the Midwest Region since 2001.

Louisiana advances to play in another elimination game against Rhode Island or New Jersey on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Note: In Little League, the 10-run rule is employed after four innings.
