Lizzo steals spotlight while Lakers hammer Wolves

"New man on the Minnesota Timberwolves."

LeBron James threw down a monstrous dunk and Anthony Davis scored 50 points, but the biggest highlight from Sunday night's game between the Wolves and Lakers in Los Angeles was Lizzo's courtside interview with Marney Gellner on Fox Sports North.

Lizzo, the Minneapolis-raised performer who has become a global sensation in 2019 with "Truth Hurts" landing at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 (currently No. 9), did what equates to a live remix of her "new man on the Minnesota Vikings" lyric in her other massive hit, "Juice."

Here's how the Q&A unfolded:

Gellner: Who are you cheering for for?

Lizzo: I'm personally cheering for number 32.

Gellner: Karl-Anthony Towns? That's your guy?

Lizzo: That's my baby.

Gellner: You know him?

Lizzo: No.

Gellner: Not yet.

Lizzo (in tune): New man on the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Lizzo also got people talking when she pulled up her dress, exposing the thong she was wearing while dancing to "Juice" during a timeout. She was on the in-arena video board when it happened before the cameras quickly cut away.

Lizzo could have a huge night Feb. 10 at the Grammy Awards as she's been nominated for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album.

As for the game, the Wolves could not stop Davis nor LeBron James, as the Laker duo combined to make 32 of 49 shots for a combined 82 points in a 142-125 win over the Wolves.

Towns finished with 19 points and eight assists but was held to a season-low four rebounds.

Minnesota (10-12) has dropped four straight and is back in action at 8 p.m. Monday in Phoenix.
