Loadholt's future with the Vikings to be decided by June 1?

Phil Loadholt or T.J. Clemmings at right tackle for the Vikings next season?

That's a question Vikings coaches and general manager Rick Spielman are going to have to find an answer to by June 1. The Star Tribune reports that the Vikings can save $6 million in cap space if they cut the Vikings cut Loadholt by June 1.

Loadholt turned 30 years old last month and is due to make $7.75 million in the final year of his contract in 2016, according to Spotrac.

Whether he's on the team next season or not is out of Loadholt's hands, so he's simply focused on rehabbing the torn Achilles that kept him out the entire 2015 season.

"I can’t control any of that. All I can do is get healthy,” Loadholt said Monday. “And once I get healthy, I’ll be ready to play ball. I can guarantee that much. The other stuff I have no control over, so I can’t worry about it.”

If Loadholt isn't the answer at right tackle the Vikings would likely hand the keys to right tackle back to Clemmings, who started 16 games as a rookie.

Loadholt was with Vikings Hall of Famers Carl Eller and Allan Page at a Black History Month speaking engagement at Winter Park in Eden Prairie on Monday. Read more about that right here.
