The Minnesota Lynx survived a late rally from the L.A. Sparks to win the decisive Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals 91-80 Tuesday night at Target Center.
The win secures the best-of-three game series for the Lynx 2-1. Minnesota advances into the Western Conference Finals where they will meet the Phoenix Mercury.
Maya Moore scored 20 points to lead the Lynx, though it wasn't her best night. She finished 6-of-21 from the floor, but made the free throws down the stretch to help put the game away. Moore was a perfect 8-of-8 from the stripe and did down a few tough shots when she had to.
Seimone Augustus added 16 points, five boards and three assists, while Slyvia Fowles added 13 points with a big fourth quarter to help the Lynx seal it.
Devereaux Peters also gave the Lynx big minutes off the bench as she added 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
Candace Parker led the Sparks with 28. She single-handedly kept Los Angeles in the game, shooting 9-of-18 from the floor and grabbing 13 rebounds for the Sparks.
