Lynx are WNBA's hottest team entering the Olympic break

Minnesota doesn't play again until Aug. 15.

Make it seven consecutive wins for the Minnesota Lynx after they blew out the Los Angeles Sparks 86-61 Sunday night in L.A.

The Lynx own the longest active win streak in the league and are 12-3 since losing four straight games to start the season. The flurry of victories has the Lynx in third place in the Western Conference, just two games behind second-place Las Vegas and three behind first-place Seattle as the league hits the Olympic break.

Napheesa Collier scored 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Lynx Sunday night. Layshia Clarendon finished with 14 points and eight assists.

Collier and Sylvia Fowles, and head coach Cheryl Reeve, will represent the Lynx on the U.S. Women's National Team at the Tokyo Olympics.

Minnesota is fourth overall in the WNBA, which is key come playoff time because the top four teams in the league avoid the single-elimination first round of the postseason.

While the second round is also single-elimination and includes the third and fourth seeds participating, the two teams with the best winning percentage during the regular season get a bye all the way to the best-of-five semifinals.

The Lynx are now off for more than a month, with their next game set for Aug. 15 against the New York Liberty.
