Seimone Augustus had 23 points and Maya Moore added 17 of her own, but the Lynx fell short in the deep Los Angeles night, 85-84 at the hands of the Sparks.

Minnesota was down by only two on a number of occasions in the final minutes, including with 1.2 seconds left on the clock, Lindsey Whalen hitting a jumper with her foot on the three-point line to make it 85-83. Sparks coach Carol Ross then received a technical foul, Whalen made the free throw, but the Lynx never got the ball back for a chance to win it.

Nneka Ogwumike scored 25 while grabbing 11 rebounds for Los Angeles, filling the void left by Sparks star Candace Parker when she was ejected in the third quarter for arguing a foul call. It was Parker's first ejection since 2011, she had 18 points before being dismissed.

The loss snaps the Lynx seven game winning streak, and they've lost five straight regular season games in Los Angeles.

Despite the defeat, Minnesota remains two games ahead of Los Angeles and has clinched the number one overall seed in the West. They play their final regular game tomorrow at Target Center, hosting the Chicago Sky.
