Lynx need a big rally, and OT, to win in their home opener Sunday

The Minnesota Lynx were down by 16 points in the second half of their home opener Sunday afternoon at Target Center, but tied the game and ended up beating the Connecticut Sun 90-87 in overtime, the Star Tribune reports.

Lindsay Whalen scored 10 of her 17 points in overtime, including Minnesota's last eight points, to help the defending champion Lynx improve to 2-0. They opened the season Friday night with a victory in Washington.

Maya Moore had 33 points and 12 rebounds. Seimone Augustus had 18 points, including a 13-foot jumper with 2.3 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

The Lynx committed 24 turnovers in the game, according to the Associated Press.

Rookie center Chiney Ogwumike led Connecticut with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
