Lynx lose to Mercury, off to worst start in 8 years
A three-headed attacked was too much for the Minnesota Lynx to overcome as they lost at home to the Phoenix Mercury, 95-85 Friday night.
The loss snaps Minnesota's 14-game winning streak against the Mercury.
Diana Taurasi led Phoenix with 29 points while DaWanna Bonner added 25 and Britney Griner scored 21 to go along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
The loss drops Minnesota to 2-4, their worst start to a season since they began the 2010 season 2-9. It's also their first three-game losing streak since dropping three consecutive in June of 2016, but that came immediately after they set a team record by winning 13 in a row to start the season.
