Lynx narrowly escape San Antonio in game one, 66-65

The Minnesota Lynx avoided a game one loss in their best-of-three series against San Antonio with a 66-65 win on Friday night. Lindsay Whalen led Minnesota with 20-points and Seimone Augustus added 19 of her own. Game two of the series is Sunday afternoon.

Lynx hammer San Antonio, advance to conference finals

The Minnesota Lynx are moving on to the WNBA Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history. The Lynx crushed San Antonio 85-67 Tuesday night in the decisive third game of the conference semifinals. Seimone Augustus led all scorers with 22 points.

Even with Seimone Augustus out with an ankle injury, the Lynx rolled to a team-record 11th straight victory, beating the Silver Stars 81-62 in San Antonio. Maya Moore led five Minnesota players with 18 points and added 12 rebounds. With the win, the Lynx clinched the best record in the Western Conference.

Lynx need to buckle down on defense

The key to a Lynx game three victory over San Antonio on Wednesday night will be defense. Minnesota led the league in scoring defense during the regular season, but on Sunday they melted down in game two of their best-of-three series. More specifically, a lot of pressure will be on Seimone Augustus to be a shut-down defender.

Lynx improve to 7-0 with win over San Antonio

The Lynx are the only remaining unbeaten team after taking down San Antonio, 83-79 at Target Center Sunday night. Maya Moore and Rebekkah Brunson led Minnesota with 17 points each. The Lynx, 7-0, have won 13 straight dating back to last season.
