Minneapolis, MINN -- The Minnesota Lynx increased its lead in the Western Conference lead with a win over the Los Angeles Sparks, 83-74 Wednesday night at Target Center.
Minnesota (23-7) took control of the game by outscoring the Sparks, 27-15 in the second quarter.
Seimone Augustus led the way with 23 points. Maya Moore, who was named Western Conference Player of the Month earlier Wednesday, added 20 points and six rebounds.
Rebekkah Brunson had another double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Lindsay Whalen finished with nine points and a career-high 14 assists. She needed eight points to reach 2,000 career points.
With just five games remaining on the regular season schedule, the Lynx lead the Western Conference race by 2 1/2 games over the Sparks.
