Sylvia Fowles backed up her regular season MVP award with a monster Game 2 of the WNBA Finals, posting a double-double with 13 points and a Finals record 17 rebounds as the Lynx survived a furious Sparks second-half rally and won 70-68.

The final 15 seconds were crazy.

After trailing by as many as 20 points in the second half, the Sparks got on the back of Candace Parker and had the ball trailing 70-68 with 13.4 seconds to play only to get called for a 5-second violation on the inbound play.

On the ensuing inbound play, the Lynx turned it over when Seimone Augustus tripped before catching a pass from Lindsay Whalen, knocking the ball out of bounds and giving it right back to the Sparks.

But the Sparks failed to take advantage of the gift and turned it over again and Minnesota was able to run out the clock.

The best-of-five series is now even at one game apiece.

All five Lynx starters finished the game in double figures. Maya Moore (27 points in Game 1) scored 13, Rebekkah Brunson scored 12, Whalen tallied 14 points and Augustus finished with 11.

The play of the game belongs to Lynx backup point guard Renee Montgomery for desperation three just inside mid-court with the shot clock winding down in the first quarter.

Game 3 is in Los Angeles Friday at 8 p.m. Central Time.
