The Minnesota Golden Gopher men's basketball team fell to 0-7 on the road this season as they were defeated 72-59 by Maryland on Sunday night.

Maryland dominated the Gophers in the first half thanks to a balanced effort. Darryl Morsell and Aaron Wiggins led the way for the Terrapins, scoring nine points each in the first half to open up a 29-10 lead with seven minutes to go in the first half.

Minnesota's shooting couldn't help dig them out of the hole either, as the Gophers shot just 28.6 percent from the floor in the first half. Although Marcus Carr had seven points in the first half, the Gophers went into the locker room down 44-28 at the half.

The second half was played even with the Terrapins, but Minnesota began to show signs of life late in the game. A 3-pointer from Jamal Mashburn Jr. was part of a run that cut Maryland's lead down to six points with three minutes to go, but the damage had been done.

Wiggins finished with a game-high 17 points as Maryland sent Minnesota to 13-8 on the season. The Gophers will have another chance to win their first road game of the season on Wednesday when it travels to Indiana.
