Mauer likely out at least one more game
A bruised thumb forced Joe Mauer to miss his second straight game Tuesday night, and he's expected to miss Wednesday's series finale against the Royals as well. He bruised his thumb in the ninth inning of Sunday's win over Cleveland. He's still listed as day-to-day.
Gardenhire waiting for Mauer's return

Mauer headed to his fifth All-Star Game
Twins catcher Joe Mauer will be only player to represent Minnesota at the 2012 All-Star game in Kansas City. Mauer was named a reserve catcher backing up starter Mike Napoli from Texas. The St. Paul native is batting .325 with four homers and 36 RBI after an injury-filled season last year. Teammate Josh Willingham will not make the trip despite being one of the Twins' most productive hitters this season.

" He's worked out in all 12 spring practices since pitchers and catchers reported to spring training, and he will likely be in the Twins' lineup in the spring training opener on Saturday.
