The M&M boys will be back on the field tonight when the Twins start a three-game series in Houston against the Astros.

No, not Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer. These M&M boys are Mauer and newly acquired left-handed starting pitcher Tommy Milone.

Mauer is starting at first base tonight for the Twins. It is the first time he has taken the field for the Twins since straining his oblique against the Texas Rangers on July 2.

The Twins have gone 14-19 during Mauer's 33-game absence, according to the Pioneer Press.

Mauer batted .400 (6 for 15) during a four-game rehab assignment at Class A Cedar Rapids.

Jake Mauer ejected defending little brother

This is pretty entertaining. Jake Mauer, the older brother of Joe Mauer and manager of the Cedar Rapids Kernels, was ejected from Friday night's game defending his little brother.

Joe joked with a local TV station, via the Cedar Rapids Gazette, that "it was nice to see" Jake standing up for his players.

Milone debuts tonight

The left-hander, whom the Twins traded Sam Fuld to the Athletics for on July 31, will make his Twins debut tonight, according to the Sports Xchange. Milone has a career record of 32-22 with a 3.84 ERA with 339 strikeouts and 105 walks. He's 6-3 with a 3.55 ERA this season.

Milone joins the rotation now that Kevin Correia, who was traded to the Dodgers on Saturday, is gone.

1500 ESPN's Derek Wetmore wrote about Milone's chances to make the 2015 Twins starting rotation. He believes the 2015 rotation with the most potential would include Phil Hughes, Ricky Nolasco, Kyle Gibson, Trevor May and Alex Meyer. May lasted just two innings in his major league debut on Saturday.
