Maya Moore brings home back-to-back player of the week awards

The accolades just keep coming for Minnesota Lynx star Maya Moore. On Monday the WNBA named Moore the Western Conference Player of the Week, for the second straight week.

The 2014 league MVP helped lead the Lynx to a 3-0 week against some of the league's best competition.

Moore averaged 29 points and eight rebounds per game in Lynx victories over Chicago, Connecticut and Tulsa. In those games, Moore was 10-of-19 from the three-point line and was 31-of-58 from the floor.

Her play was a big key to Minnesota's 79-72 victory in Tulsa on Sunday night, when Moore scored 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

According to WCCO, Sunday night's victory over Tulsa marked the 25th double-double of Moore's career – and her fourth this season.

She wasn't just scoring on the offensive side. Moore finished the week second among all players in the west by averaging 4.7 assists per game.

Just as impressive is that Moore helped lead Minnesota to the victories when the Lynx needed her the most. The team's second-leading scorer Seimone Augustus has been sidelined after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. She is expected to miss at least a month.

It's just the second time this year Moore has won the player of the week award, but the 12th time in her five-year career. The 25-year-old was also voted as a starter in the 2015 WNBA All-Star Game.

For the season Moore is averaging 20.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
