Off a big weekend, Minnesota Lynx guard Maya Moore has been named the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Week.

The Associated Press reports that Moore led all Western Conference scorers last week, averaging 24.5 points per game. She also grabbed 9.7 rebounds per game for the Lynx.

It's the first time the reigning WNBA MVP has won the honor this season, and the 11th time in her career.

On Friday, Moore opened the weekend by scoring a game-high 29 points, while grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out six assists, two steals and a blocked shot in Minnesota's 90-83 loss to Chicago.

She then added 20 points and nine boards as the Lynx bounced back to beat San Antonio on Sunday.

The fifth-year player from Connecticut tied for third on the week in assists (4.5 apg), tied for fifth in blocks (1.5 bpg) and ranked sixth in field goal percentage (.487, 19-of-39).

She becomes the second Lynx player to win the award this season.

Overall, Moore is averaging 18 points and 6.3 rebounds per game on the season. Her production has been down a little from last season, when she averaged 23.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
