Mickelson toast at The Open after ugly 77
Mickelson is among the leaders at the British Open... in bogies.
Lefty's decision to play the British Open without a driver in his bag might've been a good idea, but he still wasn't nearly sharp enough to make the cut. In fact, his second round featured a triple bogey followed by a stretch of six bogies over a seven-hole stretch.
Mickelson's second-round 77 (+7) following Thursday's 73 (+3) has him +10, five shots off the projected +5 cut at Royal Birkdale in England.

The cut has been bouncing between +3 and +5, making Jason Day quite nervous as he's in the clubhouse at +5.
