The Wild reached an agreement with restricted free agent Mikael Granlund on a three-year deal worth 17.25 million.

Granlund will earn $5.25 million next season, $5.5 million in 2018-19 and $6.5 million in 2019-20.

After playing center for the majority of his career, head coach Bruce Boudreau moved him to wing. And he flourished, putting up 69 points (26 goals, 43 assists) to lead the team last season.

Unfortunately, Granlund wasn't as productive in the postseason and it turned out he was playing with a broken hand, which limited him to just two assists in five games.

Both Granlund and Nino Niederreiter filed for arbitration hearings in July, but both players were able to work out deals before their hearings.

The lone restricted free agent remaining on the Wild's roster is Marcus Foligno, who was acquired in a trade with Buffalo last month.

After Foligno signs, it's likely the Wild could add another veteran in free agency, but the team will be up against the salary cap. Minnesota has been linked to free agents Matt Cullen and Drew Stafford.
