Welcome to our weekly college hockey roundup looking back at the world of Division I hockey around the state.

This will be where you can find Saint Cloud State, UMD, Minnesota State, and Bemidji State men’s hockey results and analysis each week throughout the college hockey season.

Its a state full of schools loaded with puck talent, here’s what they managed last weekend.

WCHA MINNESOTA STATE: In a battle of two middling WCHA teams, the Mavericks came out with a big sweep over Alaska-Anchorage.

Minnesota State got the victory in their 3-2 decision Friday thanks to a game-winner by Sean Flanagan with 3:10 left in the third period.

The Seawolves couldn't keep Saturday's contest as close, as Johnny Mcinnis scored twice on the power play, two of the five goals the Mavericks got on the man-advantage in a 7-3 win.

J.P. Lafontaine added two lamp-lighters of his own, and Minnesota State became the fourth team in the WCHA to reach double-digit points, sitting just one point behind second place Bemidji State.

WCHA BEMIDJI STATE: The Beavers struggled over the weekend against No. 12 Miami (OH), but managed a tie Friday with the Redhawks before losing 6-3 Saturday.

Miami jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the series opener but the BSU stormed back, scoring three third period goals including one with 43 seconds to go off the stick of Sam Rendle.

Blake Coleman and Alex Glacek each scored twice for Miami in the tie, and each added one more the next night in the Redhawks 6-3 win.

Reid Mimmack started the Saturday matchup in net for BSU, his first start of the year, and gave up all six Miami goals.

No. 2 Saint Cloud State and No. 18 Minnesota-Duluth of the NCHC were off as they prepare for their big clash this weekend.

Here's our recap from No. 1 Minnesota's sweep of the rival Wisconsin Badgers.

Enjoy the week, we'll be back with you next Monday.
