The No. 21 Minnesota Golden Gopher men's basketball team picked up their third victory against a top 25 team since Christmas as they downed the No. 25 Ohio State Buckeyes 77-60 on Sunday evening.
The Gophers performance in the first half was fueled by the work of Liam Robbins in the paint. The Minnesota center scored 16 of his 27 points in the first half. With 12 rebounds on the night, Robbins helped pace the Gophers to a 43-37 lead at the half.
After playing even with the Buckeyes throughout the first half, the Gophers turned it on after halftime. Four starters scored in double figures for Minnesota including Marcus Carr, who turned in 15 points with six rebounds.
With the Gophers establishing a strong game on both ends of the floor, the Gophers built a lead that swelled to as much as 18 points to improve to 10-2 on the season. Minnesota will continue navigating a brutal Big Ten schedule on Wednesday when they travel to No. 16 Michigan.
