Minnesota prep hoops star Jalen Suggs picks Gonzaga
Five-star basketball recruit Jalen Suggs announced Friday night that he's going to Gonzaga University.
Suggs, a 6-foot-5 combo guard from Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, had narrowed his choices to Gonzaga, Minnesota, Florida, Florida State and Iowa State. He made his decision during halftime of the nationally televised game between The Patrick School (New Jersey) and Sierra Canyon (California) on ESPN2.
Before his announcement, Suggs helped lead Minnehaha Academy to a win over Park Center in a game that was televised on ESPN3.
According to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, Suggs is the highest-rated recruit in the history of Gonzaga basketball, which is saying something considering the 'Zags have a national destination program for approximately two decades now.
