Minnesota sets Goldy standard at mascot, dance team competition
Minnesota's favorite rodent was among the winners at the national championships for college cheerleading and dance teams over the weekend.
The University of Minnesota's Goldy the Gopher was the winner of the mascot division at the event near Orlando.
In his winning routine, the Gold One adopted a secret agent persona.
Goldy's not the only champ on campus, though. The U of M is developing something of a dynasty, winning both the pom and jazz competitions for the fourth straight year.
Highlights from the semi-finals of the pom competition:
In the competition among smaller schools, the College of St. Benedict dance team won a national title in the pom division.
