Minnesota United's game against Sporting Kansas City Sunday has been canceled after a second Loons player tested positive for COVID-19.
The team has now registered two positive tests among players in the past four days.
Major League Soccer called the game off, and it will now not be played as United are already scheduled to face the Chicago Fire on Wednesday, a game that was postponed from Oct. 14 because another Loons player tested positive for the virus.
It will mean that United will only play 21 out of the 23 total games in the shortened regular season.
Because of this, qualification for the MLS Cup Playoffs is being determined by the average points won per game, with the Loons already having enough to qualify.
MLS doesn't identify players who test positive unless they give permission.
